From the moment I strummed my first guitar chord back in high school I understood that music is all about connection and personal expression. Music has allowed me to express my deepest truths, explore my heart and soul, and give voice to my hopes, fears, and everything in between. The best thing about music is that it is social and collaborative by nature. Music has led me to connect with the most incredible people, whether as bandmates, co-writers, listeners, or fellow artists. Music has taken me places I never thought I’d go and allowed me to share my voice far beyond my wildest imagination.
My musical creativity has flourished thanks to The Davis Academy, which has allowed me to make music creation a vital part of my rabbinic role at school. You can listen to much of that music here and see some of it brought to life in the videos below.
Beyond The Davis Academy, I am blessed to have joined forces with Melvin Kindall Myles, a gospel and jazz vocalist also based in Atlanta. Together, performing as Lapidus & Myles: Music for People of Conscience, we write, record, and share our music. You can learn more about Lapidus & Myles here and can even reach out if you’d like to bring us to your community.
